We’re proud to offer an exciting, inclusive cheer program for athletes from Pre-K through 8th Grade. Whether your child is brand new to cheer or a seasoned sideline star, Crofton Athletic Council (CAC) Cheerleading has a place for them to grow, shine, and have fun!

What We Do

Our program teaches boys and girls the fundamentals of cheerleading—everything from cheers, jumps, stunts, and tumbling, to crowd leadership and team spirit. We blend skill-building with fun, while emphasizing values that extend beyond the mat.

📅 Season Timeline

Season runs: Early August – Early November

🗓️ Important Dates

• Uniform Fittings:
  

  🧵 Mandatory Uniform Fitting
  📍 Crofton Middle School
  🗓️ Monday, June 9 or Tuesday, June 10
  ⏰ Pre-K–2nd Grade: 6:00–6:30 PM
  ⏰ 4th–8th Grade: 6:30–7:00 PM

  👉 Cheerleaders should come in a sports bra and bike shorts or a one-piece bathing suit — no bathrooms are available for changing.
  🚫 No additional fittings will be scheduled.

  💡Already have all your uniform pieces and didn’t purchase anything new?
  Then you do not need to attend the fitting!

🏃‍♀️ Practice Schedule

Practices held every Tuesday & Thursday through Labor Day (Outdoors):

• 3 & 4-Year-Olds / Kindergarten: 6:00–7:00 PM

• 1st – 8th Grade: 6:00–7:30 PM

➡️ After Labor Day, practices move indoors. Time & location TBD based on school permits (issued in early September).

🧵 Uniform Information

• Uniform Includes: Tank Top, Skirt, Jacket, Warm-Up Pants & Bow

• Required Additional Items (not included):

  • All Black Cheer Shoes

  • All Black Socks

  • All Black Sports Bra

Returning cheerleaders may reuse their uniform if it still fits.

🧘‍♀️ Practice Attire

• Sports bra, cheer shoes & socks (required)

• Hair tied up & secured

• Athletic shorts or leggings

• No jewelry (Fresh piercings must use clear plastic studs)

• Non-spillable water bottle

🏈 Games

• One football game per weekend (Saturday or Sunday)

• Games begin the weekend before Labor Day

• Game schedule will be sent late August

• Attendance at games is mandatory

• Makeup games may be scheduled during the week if needed

All teams will learn and perform a routine at our annual Pep Rally!
A fun-filled evening with food, games, and team spirit for the whole family!

💰 Fundraising

All cheerleaders are expected to participate in at least one fundraiser during the season.
Families opting out will pay full banquet fee instead. More details will be shared as the season approaches.

📣 2025–2026 CAC Competitive Cheer Team📣

Competitive Cheer is a different commitment than sideline cheer. This team requires full participation in all practices and competitions to ensure routine mastery, successful performances, and strong team bonding.

Please carefully consider your family's schedule before registering. Attendance is mandatory for all events.

🏆 Season Overview

• Season Runs: October 2025 – April 2026

• Registration Opens: July 2025 

🧠 Team Selection & Evaluations

• Mandatory Evaluation Fee: $50 (non-refundable)

• ⭐️Evaluation Dates:
  ✅ Evaluations: September 17 & 24
  (🏅 All athletes planning to try out should attend BOTH evaluation days.)
  ✅ Tryouts: October 1

• Athletes must attend both evaluation sessions.
  If you miss the evaluation window, please email us to request a make-up evaluation.

⚠️ This is a selective team, but we encourage all cheerleaders to try out!

🧵 Uniform Details

• Uniform is NOT included in registration

• Required Items:

  • Competitive Cheer Uniform

  • Warm-Up Jacket & Pants

  • Team Backpack

  • Black Cheer Shoes

  • All-black or white sports bras & socks

🧷 Uniform Fitting:

Half Season Winter Comp 2024-2025

This is different from sideline cheer and requires cheerleaders to fully commit to all practices & all competitions. These events are mandatory so the team can be successful through learning their routine, executing at each competition and building team cohesiveness. Please carefully consider this when registering your cheerleader.  
Awards Time

Season runs from beginning November 2024 – end of April 2025

Registration opens the end of October

Teams Selection

• Cheerleader evaluation for team placement will happen in beginning of November, this is how we will decide where athletes are placed.

• If you’ve missed this window – please email about scheduling a make up evaluation

• All cheerleaders interested are encouraged to attend

Uniforms

• Uniform is NOT included with registration costs 

• All cheerleaders will be required to have the competitive uniform, warm up jacket & pants, backpack & black cheer shoes

• Once placed on a team – we will have a parent meeting to discuss uniform options (rental, returning cheerleaders, used uniform) & payment options

• There will be a mandatory uniform fitting in November

• Cheerleaders are required to purchase black sports bra, black cheer shoes, and black socks 

Practices

• Practices begin early November, either Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursdays from 6-8pm 

• Exact times will be determined by team coaches

• Practice location will be in  the Crofton  Area

• Gym Practices TBD at the beginning of the season –Usually either a Friday night or weekend day. (These are mandatory)

Practice Attire

• Athletic attire should be worn at every practice

• Sports bras, socks & cheer shoes are required at every practice

• Hair up and secured, ready to work

• A full, non-spillable water bottle for every practice

• Absolutely NO jewelry – if they have freshly pierced ears, parents are required to purchase clear plastic earrings for the length of the season

Our program can’t run, without parent volunteers! If you’re interested, please make sure to fill out the form at registration!

Fundraising

Competitive cheerleaders will have multiple fundraiser opportunities during the season to off-set the cost. More information will be provided! Fundraisers will support registration fees, uniform fees, music fees, gym fees
