Welcome to Crofton Cheerleading

We’re proud to offer a fun and exciting cheer program for cheerleaders aged Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade. CAC Cheerleading teaches young athletes (boys and girls) the basic essential skills to engage the crowd through leadership and support the home team players. CAC cheerleading will provide opportunities for each athlete to learn cheers, proper hand and body movements, as well as jumping techniques, tumbling, and stunting. There will be a big focus on fun while each cheerleader learns important life skills such as teambuilding and leadership. Whether your child has never cheered before or is a veteran cheerleader, all they need is spirit.

We have a spring clinic, fall sideline teams, competition teams & a winter clinic. As each season changes, registration will open for each event.

FALL SIDELINE

Season runs from beginning August – end of October

Registration opens in May

IMPORTANT DATES:

• Uniform Fittings for Sideline & Competition – June

• Coaches preseason meeting – July 30th Time & Location TBD

• Meet & Greet Tie Dye Fun – All Fall athletes – August 1st at 6:00 pm at Bell Branch Pavilion

• Fall Practices Start – Tuesday August 6th – Crofton Middle School @ 6:00pm (an email will come out with details by the end of July)

**All practices will be outside Tuesday/Thursdays through Labor Day weekend.

TIME: **Kindergarten/1st Grade 6:00-7:00 pm

**2nd/3rd Grade 6:00-7:30 pm

**4th Grade through 8th Grade 6:00-8:00 pm

**Once school starts and we move indoors, practice location and time will change slightly.  We will not have that information until we get permits once schools approve them (Early September)

Uniforms

• If you’re a returning cheerleader, the uniform is the same

• Uniform can be included with registration costs

• Uniform is a tank top, skirt, jacket, warm up pants & bow

• There will be a mandatory uniform fitting in June

• Cheerleaders are required to purchase all black sports bras, socks & cheer shoes to be worn with their uniform 

Practices

• Practices begin early August, Tuesday & Thursdays from 6-8pm 

• Exact times will be determined by team coaches

• All cheerleaders will be placed on a team based on age & grade level

• Practice location during the month of August is Crofton Middle School

• September – practices will move inside, location TBD

Practice Attire

• Athletic attire should be worn at every practice

• Sports bras, socks & cheer shoes are required at every practice

• Hair up and secured, ready to work

• A full, non-spillable water bottle for every practice

• Absolutely NO jewelry – if they have freshly pierced ears, parents are required to purchase clear plastic earrings for the length of the season

Games

• Each team will cheer for at least one football game each weekend

• Games typically begin the weekend after labor day

• These games are mandatory – this is what sideline cheer does! 

• The schedule for your team games will be distributed Labor Day Weekend

• Games are either Saturday or Sunday, occasionally a make up game will be played during the week

Parent Volunteers

• Volunteers are needed for coaching, fundraising, team snacks, concession tables, showcase & homecoming weekend! 

• Our program can’t run, without parent volunteers! If you’re interested, please make sure to fill out the form at registration!

Showcase

• All teams will learn a routine to present for showcase

• End of season showcase is held in October

Fundraising

All cheerleaders will have at least 1 mandatory fundraiser during the fall season. More information will be provided! 

2024-2025 COMPETITIVE TEAM

This is different from sideline cheer and requires cheerleaders to fully commit to all practices & all competitions. These events are mandatory so the team can be successful through learning their routine, executing at each competition and building team cohesiveness. Please carefully consider this when registering your cheerleader.  
Awards Time

Season runs from beginning August 2024 – end of March 2025

Teams Selection

• Cheerleader evaluation is mandatory beginning in June

• If you’ve missed this window – please email about scheduling a make up evaluation

• This is a selective team but we encourage all cheerleaders to attend

Competitive Team Supporting Fall

• Each competitive team will support fall activities such as sideline games during September/October

• Fall Season Showcase

• Homecoming Weekend

Uniforms

• Uniform is NOT included with registration costs 

• All cheerleaders will be required to have the competitive uniform, warm up jacket & pants, backpack & black cheer shoes

• Once placed on a team – we will have a parent meeting to discuss uniform options (rental, returning cheerleaders, used uniform) & payment options

• Cheerleaders are required to purchase all black or white sports bras and socks 

Practices

• Practices begin early August, Tuesday & Thursdays from 6-8pm

Competitive cheerleaders will have multiple fundraiser opportunities during the season to off-set the cost. More information will be provided! Fundraisers will support registration fees, uniform fees, music fees, gym fees

Season runs January – March

Registration opens late December - early January

Ages 14 and Under 

Once a week clinic broken into two nights 

• Based on number of registrations & age groups

• Typically Tuesday/Thursday

• 6pm-7:30pm

70 spots available – then waitlist begins

• Every effort is taken to include waitlisted registrations

Cost includes clinic t-shirt
