CROFTON SOCCER

INTRAMURAL PROGRAM

Spring 2012

Crofton Soccer is changing things up a bit this upcoming season.  We are offering Champions League Soccer for 4 and 5 year old players.  The Champions League will allow our young players to get an introduction to the world's favorite sport.  When our young players reach 6 and 7, they'll play in our own version of the World Cup.  Our World Cup soccer will introduce players to regular fields, goals, and positions.  Both will emphasize learning, development, and fun!

 Champions League Soccer

A Crofton area recreational soccer league for children ages generally 4 to 5 years old (U5 and U6)

Games and practices are in the Crofton area. Practices are one to two nights a week and games are on the weekend (Saturday mornings).  The season will last 9 weeks. League play features recreational soccer with games played on a micro field, 4v4, and no goalies. We also offer clinics run by professional Coerver coaches each Friday night during the season.  Game scores and statistics are not kept. The emphasis is on fun and the very basics of the game.

Teams will be provided team jerseys to represent their Champions League team - Manchester, Inter, Liverpool, Real, etc.

World Cup Soccer

A Crofton area recreational soccer league for children ages generally 6 to 7 years old (U7 and U8)

Games and practices are in the Crofton area. Practices are one to two nights a week and games are on the weekend (Saturday morning).  The season will last 9 weeks. League play features recreational soccer with games played on a short-sided field, 7v7 and with goalies. We also offer clinics run by professional Coerver coaches each Friday night during the season.  Game scores and statistics are not kept. The emphasis is on fun and learning the next phase of the game.

Teams will be provided team jerseys to represent their international World Cup team - USA, England, Germany, Spain, etc.

Leagues

Are there separate leagues for boys and girls?

No, the Premier League and World Cup are co-ed.

My child has never played soccer.  Is intramural soccer for him or her?

Yes, intramural soccer is often the first organized sport many kids play.  No soccer experience is necessary for any of the intramural leagues.

Registration

How do I register my child?

Only online registrations are accepted.  Visit www.croftonsports.com and select the REGISTER option on the top of the screen.

When does registration open and close?

Registration opens January 1, 2012 and is scheduled to close on February 12, 2012.  Intramural registration will usually stay open a few weeks longer than the rest of the program so it will likely be open through the end of February.

How do I volunteer as a coach or assistant coach?

When registering your child, please the Parent Volunteer section.

Can I request the same coach from last season?

Yes, but we can’t guarantee all requests will be honored. Please enter the coach’s name in the Sports Notes Section. Only requests submitted through the website will be considered.

My child can only practice on a certain day of the week.  Can I request a practice night?

No, each coach decides the night of the week to practice after the teams are formed. The only way to guarantee your practice night is to volunteer to coach a team. Did we mention that coaches are needed?

Can I request my child be on the same team as another child?

Yes, but we can’t guarantee all requests will be honored. Please enter any special requests in the Sports Notes Section. Only requests submitted through the website will be considered.
