Crofton Soccer

Spring 2012

FEES: Intramural $77 & County/Select $102

IMPORTANT NOTE: Players registered after the registration deadlines for Intramural and County/Select will incur a $25 late fee & be placed on teams if space is available. Once teams are formed in the Spring/Fall seasons, the number of available roster spots is limited. Creating new teams to accommodate late registrants is not always possible - so please register early.

ONCE REGISTERED, YOUR CHILD WILL BE PLACED

IN ONE OF THESE THREE PROGRAMS

INTRAMURAL  (Usually for kids 4 to 7 years old):
Crofton's Intramural program is designed to get our youngest players to start enjoying the game and developing their skills.  Games usually take place at Bell Branch on the weekends. Although the introduction to competitive sports is important, Crofton Soccer will not keep score during the games and results won't be tracked.

COUNTY - ANNE ARUNDEL YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION (AAYSA):

These players play on Crofton teams against teams from elsewhere in A.A. County. Normally half of the games are in Crofton and half are away. County play features recreational soccer and equitable game participation for all players in a more formal competitive environment than intramural play. The county league is divided into one-year age groups (U9, U10, U11, etc.) with each age group having multiple divisions broken out by skill level. Everyone will be placed on a team.

*U8 is an option for Spring Only*

TRAVEL/SELECT:

Crofton's travel teams play in the NCSL, WAGS, BBSL, and CMSSL, traveling throughout the Washington-Baltimore metro area and sometimes beyond. NCSL and WAGS teams have tryouts in May/June and the teams are together for the entire fall and spring seasons - August through July. The BBSL and CMSSL teams are formed for either the entire year (fall and spring) or season-by-season based on team needs.  Minor fluctuations to team's roster are sometimes made before the spring season due to changes in team dynamics.  Generally, new travel teams will not be formed for the spring season.  Registered players not selected for a "select team" will be placed on an appropriate county team.

CROFTON, MARYLAND

In July 2007 Crofton was named by Money magazine as one of "100 Best Places to Live" in the United States. Crofton placed 72nd out of 100 cities on the list. It was selected for its relative anonymity while still boasting many major amenities, excellent schools, and sought after location.
