Welcome to Crofton Wrestling
Wrestling is an
ideal sport for children of all ages, skill levels, sizes, &
builds. Where else can a 103 lb high school high school athlete
have the opportunity to be a state champion in a contact sport or a
285 athlete be the star of the team. Wrestlers are matched
according to their weight classes varying from 40lbs to 195lbs.
There is also a variety of age/weight competitions keeping children
within their own age group and weight class.
Wrestling is
surprisingly a very safe sport. Wrestlers are matched within their
weight own classes and there are not nearly the collisions often
seen on the football & lacrosse field. Most injuries in wrestling
are superficial involving slight pulls, nose bleeds, scratches, etc.
League
Structure
Crofton is
entered into the Anne Arundel County League as Arundel Wrestling
which is sponsored by Crofton & GORC athletic associations. The
county teams consist of A & B team, A being the more competitive.
While this league is primarily based on weight w/ very few age
restrictions, there is also age/weight team established for the very
young children in their relative weight class.

courts, walk past cafeteria and wrestling room is on right.

Mat Club
Tuesday &
Thursday nights 6:30 to 8:00 at Arundel High School. This mat club
is run by Coach Royer of the Arundel High School program and all
wrestlers are welcome.
